Free TikTok Transcript Generator

Paste a TikTok link to get the full spoken text with timestamps, download as TXT or SRT. TikTok exposes no downloadable captions, so this runs AI transcription in 99 languages.

Paste a TikTok video link above to get the full spoken text with timestamps, then download it as TXT or SRT. Both the full tiktok.com/@name/video/id form and the short link from the app's share button work.

TikTok does not expose downloadable captions, even when you can see captions playing on screen, because that text layer is burned into the video frames. So this tool transcribes the audio with speech recognition instead of reading an existing caption file. In exchange you get proper punctuation and capitalisation, which auto-captions usually drop.

How to get a TikTok transcript

  1. 1
    Copy the video link

In the TikTok app, tap Share then Copy link. In a browser, copy the address bar. Both forms work. Private or friends-only videos cannot be fetched, because the tool does not sign in on your behalf.

  2. 2
Sign in to see the result

Results appear after you sign in. The honest reason: every run here executes speech recognition and costs real processing money, unlike simply downloading an existing caption file. An account also lets you reopen past transcripts instead of starting over.

  3. 3
    Wait for transcription

Processing time scales with video length. A 60-second clip usually finishes in about ten seconds. Longer videos take longer, and the tool accepts videos up to 15 minutes.

  4. 4
    Download TXT or SRT

TXT gives flowing text for reading, quoting or pasting into a document. SRT gives timestamped subtitles that load straight into CapCut, Premiere or VLC when you want to caption your own video.

What this tool does

Works even with no captions

Because it transcribes the original audio rather than depending on captions, it works on any video with sound, including older uploads from before TikTok had auto-captions.

Native-quality Vietnamese and 99 languages

It uses the same speech recognition Meco uses for meeting minutes. Output comes with punctuation and sentence breaks, so it is readable immediately instead of one long unpunctuated block.

Timestamps on every segment

Each segment carries a time marker, so you can jump straight back to the moment you need. That is also what turns a transcript into a verifiable quote rather than a block of text with no way back to the source.

Audio deleted after processing

The audio copy pulled for transcription is deleted as soon as the transcript exists. The tool keeps no copy of your video or audio.

Where this tool falls short

Videos longer than 15 minutes are rejected. This limit is deliberate: transcription cost scales with duration, and a free path with no ceiling cannot survive. For longer recordings, upload them into the app where the processing quota is explicit.

Private, deleted or region-blocked videos cannot be fetched. TikTok also refuses some requests by network address, and the tool says so plainly rather than reporting a generic failure.

Loud background music, overlapping speakers and heavy regional accents all reduce accuracy. TikTok videos often have music louder than the speech, which is the hardest case for any speech recognition system.

Only speech is transcribed. On-screen text, burned-in captions and text inside images are not read.

FAQ

Is the TikTok transcript generator free?

Yes, within a daily run limit. Free accounts get 5 runs per 24 hours, paid accounts get 30. That ceiling is lower than the YouTube transcript tool because every TikTok run must execute speech recognition, whereas YouTube usually only needs to fetch an existing caption file.

Why not just grab TikTok's own captions?

Because TikTok does not publish captions as a downloadable file. What you see while watching is either text burned into the frames or rendered by the app interface, with no separate download path like YouTube has. Transcribing the audio is the only route.

Can I transcribe someone else's video?

Yes, as long as the video is public. But a transcript is a record of what was said, not a licence to reuse it. The content still belongs to whoever posted it, so cite the source when you quote, and do not republish someone else's material as your own.

Do short share links work?

Yes. Links in the vt.tiktok.com and vm.tiktok.com form work, the tool follows the redirect to find the original video.

Does the transcript identify speakers?

Not in this tool. TikTok videos usually have a single speaker, so diarisation adds little. If you need speaker labels for a meeting recording, use the main flow inside the app.

Other tools

Need more than a short clip?

Meco produces minutes for real meetings: record live or upload a file, then get the transcript, structured minutes, action items and decisions. Free accounts include 5 hours of processing for the lifetime of the account, no card required.
